Do’s and Don’ts of Wearing Jumpsuits
Shops are teeming with jumpsuits nowadays, and if you want to join the bandwagon and try them out, it’s best to know some basic rules before buying your first piece. After all, you want to end up looking fabulous like those you see in the magazines, instead of looking sloppy on them.
So here are some basic do’s and don’ts:
1. Do find the perfect fit
Avoid something that is either too tight or too loose. Something clingy will make you look like Catwoman and too loose will make you look lost in the outfit. This is why trying on that denim jumpsuit to determine how well it fits you is very important.
2. Do define your waist
Make sure that you still show off your figure by either using a belt to highlight the waist. It makes you look curvy and very feminine.
3. Do pair it with a blazer
This is a good tip for jumpsuit newbies. Not only does it give you another layer to work with and keep you warmer, it can also enhance your whole outfit and make it dressier. Choose one that contrasts the color of your outfit, like the classic black jumpsuit and white blazer.
4. Do wear heels
A wide leg jumpsuit works well with heels, especially if you are petite and want to look taller than you are.
5. Don’t forget the accessories
Halter top jumpsuits work well with chunky necklaces to make them perfect for a night out. So do not forget to style your look with a few pieces!
6. Don’t go for a pinstripe suit
If you are ready to try out anything that is not a solid color, be sure that you avoid a pinstripe one at all cost. Not only is it not flattering, but this is also very unfashionable.
7. Don’t think that a jumpsuit isn’t perfect for a formal occasion
A white jumpsuit can work for a formal party as well. Pair it with heels, a black blazer, and chunky gold accessories. Do not forget that clutch bag to complete that look.
Starting off might be scary, but try a couple at the store and see how it makes you look and feel. Going for some solid colors is a good start, but don’t just get stuck with black or white. Darker shades will also look quite slimming, and will make you look elongated. Once you get used to wearing them, you can start trying ones with patterns. So go and start wowing everyone wearing your chic jumpsuit!...MORE LESS
